NEXUS: On Mario Cooper and Black HIV Movement History

Event Description:

CNP will host a commemorative event honoring the legacy of Mario Cooper on his birthday, February 8th. Cooper who has been described as the "Nexus Between AIDS Activists and Black Leaders" was an incredible force as an advocate and leader in the HIV justice movement. He is one of our many, many, movement ancestors that paved the way for our work today.

CNP sees our work as being inspired by Mario's legacy and analysis of race and power. Our work seeks to be a tribute and love letter to his courage. We are very much a part of his movement lineage.
