My Fabulous Disease: Honoring HIV Survivors and the Writing of Mark S. King (In-Person)
Out Front Theatre invites you to join us for "My Fabulous Disease: Honoring HIV survivors and the writing of Mark S. King." This special night will honor HIV/AIDS survivors through the writing of local author Mark S. King, who has chronicled his life with HIV for the remarkable span of forty years.
The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. The Counter Narrative Project along with Atlanta Pride, Out on Film and GLAAD are co-sponsors of the free event.

HIV Is Not A Crime Awareness Day Event (In-Person)
The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, in partnership with CNP and the SERO Project, is excited to present "Stuck in the 80s" Night on February 28, 2024 – an event filled with music, conversation, and community, shedding light on the issue of HIV criminalization. Unpacking MPox Mortality: Black Queer Men Living With HIV and the Outsized Impact (Virtual)
Discussing the disproportionate impact of Mpox on Black men living with HIV.
“Of the 38 people who have had a Mpox-related death, in the United States, almost 90% were Black men who had sex with men, and most were also living with HIV.”
This sobering quote is taken from the article "Black Queer Men with HIV: America's Vulnerable Frontline in Mpox Outbreak" by Dr. Deion Hawkins.
While Mpox has seemed to fade from public consciousness, its impact on Black gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men is being revealed.
Why isn't there more reporting on this impact and intersections? How can we protect ourselves from the next outbreak?
